PECTAA has extended the online registration deadline for Grade 8 candidates for the 2026–27 examination session. Registration on the IBS (Item Bank System) portal opened for schools in late May 2026, and the original window ran to early July. After a number of schools reported that they had not finished entering all their candidates, the deadline for Grade 8 was pushed into August 2026.
What this changes
The extension only affects the date by which a school must submit its Grade 8 candidate list. It does not change the exam pattern, the subjects, or the pass mark, and it does not on its own move the date sheet or the result.
What parents should do
- Ask your school to confirm that your child's Grade 8 entry has been submitted — name, father's name, date of birth and B-Form number spelled correctly.
- Keep the paid fee challan safe until the roll number slip arrives.
- If your school missed both the original and the extended deadline, contact the District Education Authority office quickly to ask what options remain.
Grade 5 registration follows the same portal and a similar timeline; check with your school for its exact cut-off.
A note on accuracy. This is an independent summary. Always confirm dates and details against the official notification on pectaa.edu.pk and with your school.
